The people AccessHealth serves face a wide range of challenges that impact their health. Our Community Health Workers are trained to assess the full picture and connect clients with the right resources — medical and otherwise.
Connecting uninsured adults to a medical home — a consistent primary care provider who gets to know them and coordinates their ongoing care.
When a client's health needs exceed primary care, we navigate them to specialist services within the SRHS system and the broader community provider network.
Many of our clients cannot afford the medications they've been prescribed. We connect them to manufacturer assistance programs, charitable resources, and other options to make sure prescriptions don't go unfilled.
Mental health and substance use conditions are deeply intertwined with physical health. We connect clients to behavioral health services and provide support through the process.
Most health doesn't happen in a doctor's office. We help clients address the social conditions that affect their health: housing instability, food insecurity, transportation barriers, employment, and more — connecting them to community partners across the region.
We connect clients to tobacco cessation programs and provide support through the process.
AccessHealth serves uninsured people in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and do not qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, or VA medical benefits. Since opening in 2011, we have served more than 35,000 people.
